This is my site, Hunt for Excellence. This page says what it records when you visit, why, and who else handles it.

What the site records

When you visit, the site records your IP address, the rough location it points to (city, region and country) and the organisation it is registered to; your device, browser, screen size, language and time zone; the site that sent you here; and what you do here: the pages you view, how long each one is on screen, how far you scroll, which links and buttons you click, and whether you play the film.

A random ID stored in your browser links your visits together. If you open a link I sent you, a code in that link tells me the visits are yours. Nothing you type into the site is recorded.

Why

To see who the site reaches and what they find useful, so I can improve it and understand who is interested in my work. I don’t sell this information or use it for advertising.

Who else handles it

Vercel hosts my visitor log. ipapi.is tells me which organisation an IP address is registered to. Framer hosts this site and counts visits. Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft) records how pages are scrolled and clicked, with typed text masked; Microsoft uses cookies to do this and handles the data under its own privacy policy.

How long it’s kept

My visitor log deletes records after 12 months. Microsoft keeps Clarity data for the period set in that service.

Your choices

You can block cookies and site storage in your browser, or use a content blocker; the site works the same. To ask what I hold about you, or to have it deleted, email me at duper009@gmail.com or book a call through the contact page.

Changes

If any of this changes, I’ll update this page and the date at the top.
